After the heavily treed areas of the lot were thinned and pruned, the eventual building site presented itself as an ideal location for a daylight basement rancher. The views to the east overlook the mountains as well as the open pasture they developed for the horses.
The covered upper deck is graced with a wood burning fireplace, and guarded with a metal and glass railing system that opens to an unobstructed view of the pasture estate. The door from the main level mud room leads down colored-concrete steps, through huge boulder sentinels to the concrete patio below. Every part of the house has a solid structural feel of permanence, including the primary exterior shell of insulated concrete, built with ICF.
