What was your reason for remodeling? We really like our location and our home. It was just a little small. So, we added about 580 square feet including a master suite and another bedroom.
How did you hear about UBuildIt? Our neighbor was working with UBuildIt and we saw their yard sign. I looked them up on the internet and called them.
Why did you choose UBuildIt? During our appointment we told them what we wanted to do. We felt really comfortable with the process, and confident that UBuildIt could get us through everything. They had been around a long time, they had done a lot of projects like ours, and they were genuine and straightforward in answering our questions. They broke down the project so we could see what everything was going to look like and how much it would cost. Other contractors gave vague answers and didn’t explain things as clearly.
What was the hardest part about building? There hasn’t really been a hard part. Maybe picking out the carpet, the paint, and all the materials. I had a hard time waiting because of the excitement to see it all done!
What was the best part of building? I feel like we are in control of everything. If I didn’t like the way something was being put together, then I could change it. Instead of someone coming to me with bills, I had the final say on who I was going to use and what I was going to do.
How much time did you spend on the project? I probably spent 10-20 hours a week, on average, with painting. We painted the inside and the outside trim, too.
Did you get other bids for the remodeling project — and if so, how much were they? We got other bids, and they were usually more expensive than the UBuildIt bids. UBuildIt helped us get bids, and we chose bids based on price and quality. Most of them were pretty close.
Any other comments? It’s been wonderful. I just feel like if I ever have questions, if I am ever not sure about something, I will just call Pete or Charlie at UBuildIt and it’s nice to have someone be there to help me through it. I feel everything has gone perfectly. I couldn’t ask for anything more. I keep telling my friends that it’s the best thing we decided to do as far as doing this type of project. I am just glad we decided to do it this way.
